3.- British Culture
Being a Foreigner
Your first few months in Britain will be a time of readjustment. You will gradually get used to the British way of life.
You will have embarrassing, and painful and frustrating experiences even if they seem funny a few years later. For every time you think “I like the way the British do this” there will be an occasion when you will sigh “why can´t they do it the same as in my country?”
While you learn to understand the British you will also learn to understand your own culture and learn about yourself, how you respond to pressure and difficulties.
If possible spend a holiday with a host family in Britain before you go to live there. The culture shock will be less severe.
